About Death

I wrote this in Sept of 2015, about death, in a quiet time of reflection about the death of my sister's son, Matt Cole.

Arioso

On March 8, our instrumental trio performed J. S. Bach's Arioso, arranged by J. F. Wilson.

Christian Kuphal, flute; Jay Treat, oboe (EWI); Dale Blair, piano.

Belief in Christ

"You believe that God is one; you do well. The demons also believe — and they shudder." (James 2:19)

Pat Treat has shared a devotional that her brother, Michael Miller posted on this verse, because it is something people need to think about when they say "I believe in Jesus the Christ".

The Work of Christmas Begins

"When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among people,
To make music in the heart."

-Howard Thurman

A Note from Our Pastor

Those of you who have been around me have seen how difficult moving around has become for me, a result of advanced arthritis in my hips.  I am scheduled to have bilateral total hip replacement on Monday, February 4, 2013, at Riddle Hospital.

Joanne and Raleigh Birch: a Remembrance

The story of Joanne and Raleigh Birch in our church community is a story of two extraordinary ordinary people and five houses — and the love that bound them together.
